backup and recovery and data protection

List of Latest backup and recovery and data protection

Backup with Ease
Easy to order, easy to use and easy to service with a 3U form factor, expandable to up to 272 slots

A simple approach to automating backup:
The Dell EMC ML3 Tape Library offers scalability above and beyond traditional tape solutions, so that you can grow your data environment with your business.
Keep it simple and save on time and support costs with the easy to order, easy to configure, and easy to upgrade ML3 with ML3E expansion.
With a media life span of 30 years, you can rely on Dell EMC’s ML3 tape solution to provide your company with secure back-up.
There’s no beating the TCO of tape technology, and with the Dell EMC ML3, you get the assurance your company is backed by a trusted brand with top of the line technology.

Automated Data Protection:
Regular, disciplined backup is a vital part of a complete disaster recovery strategy. The Dell EMC ML3 is a powerful tape library that helps organizations automate their backup processes to reduce the need for manual intervention and the risk of human error. The Dell EMC ML3 uses optical cartridge location technology for precision cartridge handling and inventory, which helps improve the overall reliability of backups.

Simplified Operations
Tapes can be imported and exported individually using the mail slot or either sixteen (ML3) or twenty (ML3E) at a time using one of two magazines. The library utilizes barcode-scanning technology to record the location of tape media, so you can be assured that your critical data is properly stored and ready in case disaster strikes.

Intuitive Management
An on-board, user-friendly LCD interface allows you to easily monitor, control, configure, and service the library. While you are away, the tape library enables you to remotely administer all functions, including system status and logs, diagnostics and drive operations, as well as configuration and inventory management features.

Tape Versatility
The comparative low cost for tape combined with its long history of proven reliability helps ensure its continued use for both backup and archiving. The portability of tape enables it to be taken off-site and stored in a vault. In addition, LTO tape technology supports write-once, read-many (WORM) capability, which enables permanent data storage that cannot be overwritten — a requirement of many compliance regulations.
Certified Solution
Dell Tape LTO Media delivers quality, compatibility and reliability, all at an affordable price, and is recommended for use with all Dell PowerVault tape backup devices and third-party tape backup products. Dell products have been tested and validated on Dell systems to ensure compatibility and long working life with your servers. Dell media offers smooth, stable transitions with minimal error rate and high efficiency. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty* by Dell technical service and support, you can rely on Dell's proven leadership and quality to help ensure that your data is protected and accessible.

Large Storage Capacity and High Transfer Speeds
As database- and internet-related applications require greater data storage, and critical operations demand minimized downtime due to backup operations, new cost-effective solutions are needed. LTO Ultrium ultra-high-capacity cartridge is such a solution. With storage capacity of up to 12TB native and data-transfer rates of up to 360MB/sec native (Full Height), this increased performance (measured by higher transfer speeds) means less time spent on backups and archive operations, and greater overall efficiency.

WORM Media
Dell offers LTO-5 and later generation WORM media, which provide a cost-effective means for storing data in non-rewriteable format to help address compliance requirements. This means once data is written to a piece of WORM media, the data on the tape cannot be changed or overwritten. WORM media can be appended to if data is already present on the tape. The media also stores unique identifiers, which enable the drive to determine whether or not the media has been tampered with. WORM media offers a method of data retention for compliance laws such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. Specific WORM media bar code labels will end in LT.
Reliable tape-based storage
LTO tape drives offer fast, reliable data backup and archive with a low total cost of ownership.

Store lots of data for the long haul:
Simplify data backup and archive by easily integrating the LTO family of tape drives into your data center. With up to 12TB of native capacity on a single cartridge, LTO drives provide decades of shelf life for industries and tasks that need reliable, long-term, large-capacity data retention, such as:
Healthcare imaging
Media and entertainment
Video surveillance
Geophysical (oil and gas) data
Computational analysis, such as genome mapping and event simulations

Lower your long-term storage TCO and environmental impact:
In addition to a lower acquisition cost per gigabyte, LTO tape drives lower your energy consumption and costs because power is used only when data is written to or read from the tape media. For infrequently accessed data, tape remains one of the most economical and environmentally friendly storage technologies available.

Tape storage also gives you room to grow. Its lower power consumption makes it an ideal part of a cloud physical infrastructure build-out. Linear Tape File System (LTFS) support removes software incompatibilities, creating portability between different vendors and operating systems to extend the life of your infrastructure investments.

Safeguard your data and meet regulatory compliance:
LTO tape drives deliver peace of mind that your data is securely stored and in regulatory compliance against problems like hardware failure, natural disasters, theft or cyber threats.
AES 256-bit hardware encryption helps prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data, reducing the risk of data loss or corruption due to virus or sabotage and protecting data privacy during media transport.
An LED encryption indicator visually confirms when data is being encrypted or when an encrypted cartridge is mounted.
Write-once, read-many (WORM) media ensures that once data has been written, it cannot be altered.

Tough and portable:
Customers seeking a rugged, removable disk backup for servers or desktops with a simple USB port connection.

Removable disk drive versus other storage:
The benefits of using a high-capacity, removable disk drive and accompanying cartridge like Dell PowerVault RD1000 are evident when compared to alternative backup media. Rugged, removable disk media offers increased portability and durability over standard USB-based hard drive storage. The PowerVault RD1000 cartridges are built to withstand a fall from nearly one meter so they are very durable, and the removable disk cartridges are small and lightweight and can be stored off-site for better disaster recovery protection. PowerVault RD1000 provides easy expandability when you reach capacity with one removable disk cartridge, just insert in a new one. There's no need to buy additional hardware. PowerVault RD1000 includes backup software that provides data protection for faster data restores and reduced downtime.

PowerVault RD1000 features a protective disk drive cartridge that is available in 1TB*, and 2TB capacities. The RD removable disk cartridges are all interchangeable and preformatted. Archiving a collection of PowerVault RD1000 disk cartridges takes considerably less room than a similar amount of DVDs or CDs — it would take over 200 standard DVDs to hold the volume of a single 1TB removable disk cartridge — all while saving shelf space.

Tough and compact form:
The PowerVault RD1000 functions lying flat or on its edge. Its compact profile takes up very little space on a desk or close to your server, allowing a backup solution that doesn't require rethinking your office arrangement. The removable disk cartridge is designed for durability and easily fits into a briefcase, backpack or even a coat pocket. The PowerVault RD1000's simple plug-and-play USB connection allows you to back up more than one system, or move it from home to office as you need. Each removable disk drive cartridge weighs about as much as a cell phone and is only slightly larger.
